Allison Bense

Expertise	CoolSculpting fully certified and CoolSculpting University Graduate
Experience	I’ve been CoolSculpting since 2017, and had the opportunity in 2020 to be hand picked to work one on one with Master CoolSculpting providers in all new and cutting-edge advanced techniques. I’ve lived and breathed ballet and dance and fitness my entire life. I’m also an entrepreneur and have run businesses since 2003, including the owner and operator of 2 Pilates studios, one in Ontario and locally, Bense Pilates. I also brought lululemon to NL and was their only wholesaler.

Talents	I am a true empath who finds great meaning in connecting with others, letting myself be seen, and understanding others on a deeper level, knowing that we're all in this life together. I am a great listener, and I pride myself on living vulnerably and always withholding judgment. I am a person with integrity, and I typically choose courage over comfort. I believe in living our core values in each and every experience, and always living life graciously and gracefully.
Favorites	- My children and my family pack (now includes my 2 kids, 3 stepkids and the love of my life, Troy) - My family as a whole is extremely close and connected-we work and play together (i.e. travel and Cabin life is one of my fave things as my escape) - Love to exercise and meditate and read as my way of escaping and decompressing and staying authentic

Dr. Amanda Coleman

Experience	Dr. Coleman started working at Bense SurgiSpa in 2020. She is part of the Endeavor Family Practice Renewal Program, and takes in undergraduate medical students for teaching. Dr. coleman was part of the after-hours clinic until it closed in 2020 and worked on the Medical Form Standardization Committee. in 2009 she started working at Elizabeth Family Practice and covered the Tiffany Village Retirement Home. A dedicated community member, board member for the Quality of Living Committee and Macdonald Drive Elementary Student Council.
Education	Graduated from Memorial University (MU) Family Residency Program, MU Medical School with a dean's scholarship, and MU Biochemistry Nutrition with a Minor in Biology. Also graduated from Queen Elizabeth high school with honours.

Talents	Knitting but someday would love to learn to sew.
Favorites	Love to be in the outdoors as much as possible and love to stay active, whether it be walking, hiking, weightlifting, etc. I also have four children under 10 with my partner who keep me very busy

Jacquelyn Lake

Dr. Robert Farrell

Expertise	- Board certified General Surgeon - Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
Experience	Dr. Farrell joined Bense SurgiSpa as an aesthetic surgeon specializing in radiofrequency assisted liposuction. He is presently the Chief of Surgery at Carbonear General Hospital, a Clinical Assistant Professor with Memorial University’s medical school, and is a Surgery subcommittee member with the Medical Council of Canada.
Education	Trained in blepharoplasty, skin resurfacing and Radiofrequency assisted liposuction (RFAL). He also has several publications in the field of thermoregulation and an MSC in Physiology. His aesthetic training is extensive and includes Botox injections, Fillers, IPL, ND YAG laser for spider veins, Sclerotherapy, microdermabrasion, laser hair removal, mesotherapy, basic skin analysis and identification and removal of various skin lesions including cancers.

Talents	Served in the Canadian Military for two decades and six different international tours with United Nations and NATO.

Heather Penwell

Expertise	Extensive training in non-surgical medical aesthetics including body contouring.
Experience	Has worked in collaboration with Bense SurgiSpa for the last 12 years and has been involved in medical aesthetics for over 16 years. Prior to joining Bense, she worked in critical care for seven years and subsequently at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Center as a certified chemotherapy nurse before training in medical aesthetics. She has completed programs in chemotherapy and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Education	- Ongoing training through Allergan - George Brown College in Toronto, Critical Care Medicine diploma - 1996, Memorial University of Newfoundland and the Grace General Hospital, Registered Nurse diploma.
