Lip blushing is an evolved and advanced type of semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing procedure which involves safely depositing colored pigments into the lips to refresh and revitalize their natural color and shape, create the illusion of fuller lips, or add full color so the result is a luxury lipstick effect, which looks perfectly vibrant 24 hrs/day. Lip blushing treatment is much more sophisticated than the treatments used in the past. Ideal for any age, gender and all skin types, Lip Blushing has many benefits, from enhancing pale, smaller or aging lips, improving asymmetry or uneven pigmentation, correcting color, creating a lip tint or lipstick shade effect, making the lips appear fuller, and delicately enhancing the natural radiance of their lips.
At Bense Body, we will use a strong, fast acting, medical-grade numbing cream prior to and throughout the treatment, based on client comfort.
During your free consultation/upon booking your treatment, you will be educated and receive your pre/post treatment protocol and teaching so you arrive fully prepared on the day of treatment. When lip blushing is done safely and correctly, the technique is bloodless, comfortable, and will not damage your natural lips.
In order to obtain full beautiful results, you can expect a ‘perfecting session’ 6-8 weeks post the initial session. Directly after the procedure, lips appear bold and brighter than what they will heal to. Lips will heal between 40-60% lighter and softer. Lips will be slightly swollen and tender.
You can expect some peeling up to 7 days. At this time, the lips should be healed and the color is much lighter than right after the procedure. Day 28-42, the color has come back! This 6-8 week timeframe is therefore the perfect time for a “perfecting session”!
You can expect your initial appointment to last up to 2 hours, including your numbing time and pre-treatment color customization.
For anyone who has a history of cold sores, we strongly recommend that you take Valtrex before the procedure (2 days prior and 2 days post). At Bense, we pride ourselves in always being a fully ‘physician-directed’ medical clinic, and will therefore provide you with a prescription for Valtrex, and eliminate the inconvenience of having to visit your family physician.
Although results may vary from person to person, after your perfecting session, results can last 1-3 years. With annual touch ups, your refreshed results will last longer. The rate lips fade will depend on several things such as age, skin type, health, sun exposure, skincare routine, diet, and lifestyle habits.
